Teacher & Students,
NASA needs your help! As apprentice scientists, you have been asked to help the International Space Station (ISS) astronauts with a critical mission.
The ISS has run into a problem. Vast chunks of space debris is just days away from impacting the station. Normally the astronauts would fire the engines and adjust the station’s orbit but a critical component required to power the thrusters has failed and a new component must be installed before the station can be moved.
The astronauts are busy trying to complete critical experiments so they need you to design and print the component, clarify if the ship is hit if they will have enough power to complete their mission, and determine the space station's current position in relation to the Earth. Once you have completed your mission, you will provide the astronauts with this information so they can print the part on their 3D printer on board the station and determine their best course of action.
As previously stated, you have a limited amount of time to complete these tasks and get the instructions to the astronauts on board the station, every moment counts. Good luck!
